Bike Bag Essentials

Packing for a bike ride is a lot like packing for any other trip. You should prepare for the weather conditions, the length of your ride, and any unforeseen circumstances that might arise during your trip. However, there are some items that are essential to include in your bike bag regardless of the destination or duration of your ride.

A small bike repair kit containing tire levers, a spare tube or patch kit, a mini pump or CO2 inflator, and a multi-tool. These are helpful for fixing flats or changing out tires on the road if necessary.

Staying hydrated during a ride is essential, so you should bring a water bottle or hydration pack. You can also purchase water at most convenience stores along your route if needed.

Bring some energy bars, gels, or snacks to keep your energy levels up during a long ride.

Make sure to bring your phone and some form of identification in case of an emergency. If possible, also consider bringing an external battery pack so you can recharge your phone while riding without having to stop every few miles! This way you won't miss any important calls or texts while on the road (or get stuck without GPS

It is a good idea to carry some cash, a credit card, or your mobile payment app with you in case there's something you need along the way. If the forecast calls for rain, bring a lightweight jacket or poncho to keep you dry.

Sunscreen and sunglasses will protect your skin and eyes from the sun's rays.

If you ride in low light conditions, such as early morning or late evening, bring lights to help other road users see and recognize your presence.

Remember to always pack for safety and be prepared for unexpected changes in weather or road conditions.
